Clean Ups

Freeing Nature from Plastic

Cleanups in nature are probably the easiest way to get out in nature and spend time with your friends or grab some fresh air alone while doing something meaningful for the planet. It’s a tool to help waste get back into the recycling cycle and not let it pollute the environment while also connecting more to nature yourself and inspiring others in the process. Whether it's on the beach or in the woods, just grab a pair of gloves and a trash bag, and you’re good to go.

Cleaning Guide to Start Yourself

Picking up plastic is just the beginning. Those who start cleaning up become more aware of the entire cycle and are naturally reminded to reduce their use of single-use plastics.

1. Get Started

Grab a pair of gloves and a trash bag and head to a spot in nature that you want to clean up.

2. Collect

Start, have a good time in nature and collect as much waste as you can with your trash bag.

3. Sort and dispose

After your clean up, sort the trash according to the recycling system in your region and dispose of it properly.

4. More than just a cleanup

Take a picture or video of your cleanup and send it to Planet Matters if you want to get featured on our social media pages. Track the cleanup through our app to earn rewards and inspire others in the process.

Building a Worldwide Team

Planet Matters connects with people cleaning up in over 30 countries worldwide. We organize our own cleanups and receive footage from cleanup enthusiasts around the globe showcasing their efforts, all to inspire others to start cleaning up too. Our global movement is growing steadily, constantly creating new initiatives and opportunities for more people to join this community dedicated to protecting our planet.

Joining forces with other Institutions

We recognize that tackling plastic pollution requires collective effort, and we are excited to connect and collaborate with other organizations to explore ways we can make nature as a whole and especially our ocean, rivers and lakes cleaner.

Other Clean up Institutions

With the realization that the state of our environment poses a collective challenge, we follow an inclusive approach and regularly connect with local cleanup NGOs and other cleanup communities to increase our impact and together walk towards establishing our vision. Some of our latest collaborations were with River Cleanup, Sea Shepherd, World Cleanup Day and the Clean Ocean Project.

Corporate Clean ups

Everyone can contribute in their own way to keep our planet clean. If you’re a company or municipality looking to organize a fun cleanup event with your team, you’ve come to the right place. Cleanups are not only great for team building but also a chance to recharge by doing something meaningful together. We ensure it’s a fun and engaging experience by adding a mix of motivation and gamification.
